Our first course introduces you to the stage ( the houses) and the backdrop (the signs) of hte birth chart. By the end of the 2 days you will be able to demonstrate which houses are dominant in your horoscope and explain how that affects your life. You will be able to determine which Zodiac signs influence which areas of your life and come to understand why you act differently in different situations. You will also encounter some of the famous faces throughout history who worked with astrology.

Medical Astrology 1

This course will introduce the basic philosophies and body rulerships according to modern medical astrology. Discover how to interpret a chart for its medical strengths and weaknesses. You will learn how to balance the situation using simple herbal and nutritional applications. This lecture will open up a part of medical astrology that has long been forgotten and once went hand in hand with all medicine.

Eclipses and Fixed Stars

Eclipses are powerful cycles of fate. Find out about lunar and solar eclipses, the saros series and how to use these destiny cycles to work out when fate will come calling for you. The theory and effects of eclipses is presented including practical examples. Students will have the opportunity to apply relevant eclipse cycles to their own charts.What are fixed stars? Why do astrologers use them? An overview of the major fixed stars and how they can enhance chart interpretation with their rich mythology. Different techniques around applying fixed stars to the ecliptic/ natal charts are explored. Students are allocated some practice time in the session to discover the star myths that run through their lives.

Horary and Traditional Techniques

Using fundamental traditional tools like reception and dignity,students learn about horary and electional astrology. Horary astrology is about using the astrology of the moment to gain insight into situations or events; Electional astrology involves creating the best birth chart possible for an upcoming event or experience (like a wedding or new business). Students discover how to use astrology as an oracle and will have the opportunity to apply astrological symbolism to real life questions – and get some on the spot answers! Horary astrology is quick, clear and simple and was the historical entry point for the beginner student. By the end of the day students will have the opportunity to demonstrate basic skills in using the horoscope as a tool of enquiry and explore alternatives for creating birth charts for specific events.

The History of Psychological Astrology

The practices of modern psychology and astrology are intimately linked. Both emerge from a concerted effort to explore the human psyche. Yet few contemporary astrologers understand the depth of this connection. Astrology, as an ancient tool for the study of the human soul, has survived over 4000 years to become the sophisticated art/science that it is today. Psychology, especially under the direction of Carl Jung, has developed models for understanding the spiritual aspect of the psyche that bear striking correspondences to the astrological tradition.

The conception of ourselves as psychologically-oriented beings with a profound need to search for meaning has altered the practice and tradition of astrology as it stands. Where did this come from and how has this influenced the kind of astrology we practice today?

This one day workshop is about putting into practice what was learned / experienced in level 1. This is a practical day of playing with charts for general health, accident charts and even elective surgery dates. Come and experience how to use medical astrology for daily health.
